• « Petit Bouillon Vavin : This is a place where I like to go for a quick lunch with a typically french menu in a brasserie-like setting for cheap prices (almost like a cantine, many entrées come for <5 euros and main dishes <12). Meats always come with a good sauce. No bookings but they serve quickly so places are always getting free (but in exchange you cannot stay 3h at your table). Before or after this lunch, if you want to shop a bit and have a café at a nice terrace : walk rue Delambre (pedestrian street with a market-like atmosphere a bit like rue Daguerre) starting on the other side of the boulevard, and get a café at one of the terraces on the square animated Edgar Quinet square. You can also have a walk in the market if it is sunday (closes at 2:30). OR if you prefer to have a gourmet coffee and get some rest in a typical parisian garden, take the rue Bréa and rue Vavin towards the Luxembourg garden 5 min from there, and stop by "Un grain décalé" just before you enter the Luxembourg to get a fine espresso. »

• « Cuisine de bistrot français typique avec des plats simples mais vraiment pas chers. Les tables sont serrées, on entend donc la conversation de ses voisins, ce qui donne une ambiance conviviale. Comme un bouillon avec moins d’attente pour y entrer :) »
